Selection results of the open call 2024!

We know the first titles in the program of the second edition of the HER Docs Forum! As part of the showcase of Polish short films, as many as 23 titles selected from 115 entries will be presented.


HER Docs Forum - the women's documentary film forum is an international event presenting non-fiction filmmaking and supporting women documentary filmmakers. The second edition of the HER Docs Forum will take place on September 5-8, 2024 in Warsaw.


The search for new languages, means of expression, as well as new sensitivity in the world of documentary film are the main themes of this year's edition of the HER Docs Forum. During the event, the audience will watch documentaries shown and awarded at leading festivals in the world.


The industry part of the HER Docs Forum program, addressed to women active in the world of documentary film, will allow participants to gain new skills, exchange knowledge and experiences, and delve into issues important in the profession of a documentary filmmaker, regardless of their profession, through a rich program of workshops, case studies, panels and meetings with experts.


As part of the showcase of Polish short films at Warsaw's Kinoteka cinema, which is a continuation of the New Faces section of the HER Docs Film Festival, the audience will be able to learn more about the film oeuvre of Polish and/or Polish-based directors created over the last two years.


As part of the open call for entries, 115 documentaries, experimental, animated and video art films created over the last two years were submitted, including works by students and graduates of the main film schools in the country: the Lodz Film School, the Wajda School, the Warsaw Film School, the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice, films made as part of the Munk Studio's "First Documentary" and "First Animation" programs, as well as film projects created in art schools such as the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznan and the Academy of Art in Szczecin.

Screenings of films presented as part of the showcase during the second edition of the HER Docs Forum will be accompanied by meetings with their directors.
